Law Suit: Burger King served pot burgers to cops
ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (AP) — Two police officers sued Burger King Corp., claiming they were served hamburgers that had been sprinkled with marijuana. The lawsuit says Mark Landavazo and Henry Gabaldon, officers for the Isleta Pueblo tribal police, were in uniform and riding in a marked patrol car when they bought meals at the drive-through lane October 8 of a Burger King restaurant in Los Lunas, New Mexico. The officers ate about half of their burgers before discovering marijuana on the meat, the lawsuit said. They used a field test kit to confirm the substance was pot, then went to a hospital for medical evaluations.
“The idea that these hoodlums would put marijuana into a hamburger and therefore attempt to impair law enforcement officers trying to do their jobs is outrageous.” Three Burger King employees were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and aggravated battery on an officer, a felony. They later were indicted.
Ok as funny as this is.. The last quote is the most important part of this. I hope they throw the book at the kids who did this. This could easily have ended up with the cops having an accident or been involved in something and while being impaired without realizing it could have resulted in deadly consequences for someone or themselves.

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude, they were just trying out the new herbal flavor burgers!
But seriously, they were halfway through the burgers before noticing the pot. So they basically took in the equivalent of one joint. Being an illegal substance I would of course have no knowledge of the effect of pot on a person’s system, but pot’s a substance that takes a LOT to have an effect on a first time user. One joint and you’re not going to notice a thing. So the bigger question might be that if the cops were already being affected by one joint worth of pot…
