WASHINGTON (Reuters)- When radio host Jerry Klein suggested that all Muslims in the United States should be identified with a crescent-shape tattoo or a distinctive arm band, the phone lines jammed instantly.

The first caller to the station in Washington said that Klein must be “off his rocker.” The second congratulated him and added: “Not only do you tattoo them in the middle of their forehead but you ship them out of this country … they are here to kill us.”

Another said that tattoos, armbands and other identifying markers such as crescent marks on driver’s licenses, passports and birth certificates did not go far enough. “What good is identifying them?” he asked. “You have to set up encampments like during World War Two with the Japanese and Germans.”

At the end of the one-hour show, rich with arguments on why visual identification of “the threat in our midst” would alleviate the public’s fears, Klein revealed that he had staged a hoax. It drew out reactions that are not uncommon in post-9/11 America.

“I can’t believe any of you are sick enough to have agreed for one second with anything I said,” he told his audience on the AM station 630 WMAL (http://www.wmal.com/), which covers Washington, Northern Virginia and Maryland

“For me to suggest to tattoo marks on people’s bodies, have them wear armbands, put a crescent moon on their driver’s license on their passport or birth certificate is disgusting. It’s beyond disgusting.

“Because basically what you just did was show me how the German people allowed what happened to the Jews to happen … We need to separate them, we need to tattoo their arms, we need to make them wear the yellow Star of David, we need to put them in concentration camps, we basically just need to kill them all because they are dangerous.”

The show aired on November 26, the Sunday after the Thanksgiving holiday, and Klein said in an interview afterwards he had been surprised by the response.

“The switchboard went from empty to totally jammed within minutes,” said Klein. “There were plenty of callers angry with me, but there were plenty who agreed.”
POLLS SHOW WIDESPREAD ANTI-MUSLIM SENTIMENT

Those in agreement are not a fringe minority: A Gallup poll this summer of more than 1,000 Americans showed that 39 percent were in favor of requiring Muslims in the United States, including American citizens, to carry special identification.

Roughly a quarter of those polled said they would not want to live next door to a Muslim and a third thought that Muslims in the United States sympathized with al Qaeda, the extremist group behind the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington.

Where does the problem lay? Does it lay with the ignorance of the callers or does it lay with the Muslims within America not speaking up enough and against Al Qaeda. I personally think it lays with both sides. While it sucks that you have to speak up and against Islamic Terorrists its the way of the day these days. It makes me wonder.. If Islamics truly feel their religion has been hijacked by terrorists then why aren’t they speaking up loudly all the time? If my religion was being hijacked by a fundamentalist group that was killing in the name of my religion I would be using every means possible to yell about it and distance myself from those nuts.

ISTANBUL (Reuters) – A blind Turkish pensioner has been sentenced to a 26-day reading and writing course at his local public library after he failed to vote on time in an election for his village cooperative, his son said Friday.

A prosecutor in the province of Kutahya in northwest Turkey sentenced Ismail Canseven, 73, to the education course after he did not show up for the election of the cooperative’s board of directors in May, Isa Canseven told Reuters.

“What am I going to do in a library? I can’t see out of either of my eyes, and I can’t read or write anyway,” Friday’s edition of the Hurriyet newspaper quoted Ismail as saying.

Isa Canseven, 42, said he would appeal against the sentence served on his father. “My father can only find the bathroom by holding on to a piece of string we’ve tied to the (bathroom) wall,” he said.

A case of the law going nuts!
Although it would be interesting to see what truly happened if a similar law was enacted in the US. Would you really want people who can’t be bothered to vote in the first place actually voting? Perhaps if a similar law was enacted in the US it would also have a required test based on knowledge of the issues.

I felt compelled to write this after having an argument in a forum with someone who looks to be successful in life but starts to fall into this whole : Muslims are the problem etc etc mindset. Now I am by no means the most politically correct person out there. I do believe if you move to a country then you follow their laws. If you like that country then you integrate into society and if you don’t like it then fuck off back to where you came from. America is a melting pot and we should not switch the burner off. Blacks, Chinese and many other immigrants all experienced racism and some still are. Racism tends to be associated with black/white but in reality there are all kinds of racism. Religious racism, geo-racism even within your own borders, social status racism and so on.

Yes there are some radical muslims who want to force a religious war with the west. Does that mean you tar all muslims as being killers? No.. Did everyone tar all christians when timothy mcveigh decided to bomb the federal building? No they didnt! Christian Identity and other movements or so called religions out there all preach and teach hatred and violence towards other as do the fanatical muslims.

Why? Is it easier to identify the whole religion? I mean in previous wars it was easier to identify the enemy. The Germans, Japanese and so on. I think its far scarier when you can’t identify the enemy properly. Look at Vietnam and the confusion that reigned over who was really VC and who was your friend. Iraq.. No different.. lets play “Whos the nice Iraqi?”. Fear gives way to a need to catalogue and define who to target and therefore Islam (Muslim) becomes the more definable target that the relatively few nutjobs.

Scary times ahead.

Anyone else thinking about damn time?

Immigrants who were supposed to be teaching or conducting religious ceremonies were arrested across the East Coast, where authorities said many worked as gas station attendants, taxi drivers, landscapers and factory workers.

Hard workers they may be.. but this loophole definately needs to be closed!!

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials have been scrutinizing the religious worker visa program, which a 2005 review found was rife with problems. Homeland Security officials found fraud in one of every three religious visas they reviewed.

33%.. nuff said.

In the report released last year, officials found cases where workers could not be found and addresses could not be verified. In one incident, the address on the visa application was found to have been used by a terrorist suspect, though Boyd said there was no indication of a terrorist threat in Wednesday’s case.

Warning anyone?? Hellooooo… Anyone listening to this from either side of the aisle??

While browsing around I came upon an interesting site that discusses the Skull and Bones secret society at Yale. The membership list is the most interesting thing about it.

George Walker Bush (’68) 43rd President of the United States

George Herbert Walker Bush (’48) 41st President of the United States (1989–1993)

Senator John Kerry (’66)

John Heinz II (’31), father of Teresa Heinz Kerry’s first husband John Heinz

Members are forbidden from revealing affiliation until their graduation, at which point they are permitted to wear Skull and Bones pins in public. Lists of purported members are readily available and may be located with a simple Internet search, though some have questioned the accuracy of such lists. The rituals of Skull and Bones take place in the organization’s campus building which is called the Tomb, adjoining Jonathan Edwards College.

There are three distinct aspects of controversy that deal with secret societies, among these being their rituals and their connections to power. The most interesting among them however, is their intended philosophy. Particular to Skull and Bones is the appearance that it indoctrinates its members to a philosophy which idolizes death and the attainment of power by killing.

Hmmmm has anyone looked into the death of John Heinz??

Now I understand the Bush’s being part of this elitest/elite secret society.. but Mr I Fight For The Working Class John Kerry was a member? Mr.. America’s soldiers are like Ghengis Khan?

I guess this is another entry in his long string of doing and saying things that is most likely to make him president.

This was a full page ad in today’s Washington Post from the millionaire former CEO of Supra Alloys Inc.

In today’s America, ask a growing number of high school and college students; their teachers and professors; the self-anointed media elite and/or hard working men and women of all ethnicities, the question, “What is a Republican?”, and you’ll be told “… a rich, greedy, egotistical individual, motivated only by money and the desire to accumulate more and more of it, at the expense of the environment … the working poor ….and all whom they exploit…”

I am a Republican … I am none of those things… and I don’t know any Republicans who are.

WHAT I AM … first and foremost, is a loving husband of some 52 plus years, the father of four and an American who’s proud of his country… and his country’s heritage.

WHAT I AM … is the grandson of immigrants who risked everything, including their lives and those of their children, to escape tyranny in search of freedom.

WHAT I AM … is a man who grew up during the Depression and witnessed, first hand, the effects of the Stock Market crash and the soup lines that followed. I watched as both my parents and grand parents, who had very little themselves, share what food they had with a half dozen other families, who had even less.

WHAT I AM … is someone who worked his way through college by holding down three and four jobs at a time and then used that education to build a better life.

WHAT I AM … is a husband who, at age 24, started his own business for the “privilege” of working 60, 70 and 80 hours a week, risking everything I had, including my health, in search of a better life for myself and my loved ones.

WHAT I AM … is a businessman whose blood, sweat and tears…. and plenty of them…, made it possible for me to provide a secure living, not only for my family and myself, but also for literally hundreds of my employees throughout the years. Employees, who in turn, were able to buy their own homes, raise their own families and give back to their communities and their country.

WHAT I AM … is a man who believes in God; a God who has blessed this country… and all for which it stands.

WHAT I AM … is someone who knows, if you doubt miracles exist in today’s world, you need only to look into the face of those who received them … and the eyes of those who give them.

WHAT I AM … is an American who’s proud that his President embraces a belief in God; proud of a President who understands, as “politically incorrect” as it may be, there is evil in this world and for the security and safety of all freedom loving people everywhere, it must be confronted… and it must be defeated.

WHAT I AM … is an American who takes comfort in the knowledge that our President refuses to allow decisions concerning the very safety and security of this nation, to be governed by the political whims of foreign governments.

WHAT I AM … is tired of hearing from leading Democrats who see only negativity in America; racism in her people; class warfare in her society and “political incorrectness” in her character.

WHAT I AM … is a former democrat who now understands that it is the soldier and not the reporter that guarantees us our freedoms of press, speech and dissent.

WHAT I AM … is a man who believes in the sanctity of life. A man who is repulsed by the pandering of the political left for votes, at the expense of the unborn.

WHAT I AM … is a husband and father who believes in the sanctity of marriage and the preservation of the family unit.

WHAT I AM … is a movie go-er who is repulsed by those insecure, socially inept, elementary thinking, ego-inflated “entertainers” who have appointed themselves “experts” in the fields of national security and geo-politics and then use their forum to attack this nation, its leaders and its actions…. much to the delight and encouragement of our enemies.

WHAT I AM … is an American who understands the difference between “censorship” and “choice”. Evidently, these individuals do not, because when these same “celebrities” receive public ridicule for their offensive actions, the first thing they yell is “Censorship!”. What they seem incapable of understanding is… the right of free speech and dissent is shared equally by those offended… as well as those who offend. I support and will continue to support those films and performers whom I choose to … and refuse to support those I don’t. It is my right as an American … a right I will continue to enthusiastically exercise.

WHAT I AM … is a voter, tired of politicians, who, every time their voting records are subjected to public scrutiny, try to divert attention from their political and legislative failures by accusing their opponents of “attack ads” and “negative campaigning”…. and the news media who allow them to get away with it.

WHAT I AM … is a Catholic who loves his God and his Faith… and who’s been taught to respect all religions whose teachings are based in love, peace and charity. As such, I am embarrassed and ashamed of those individuals, in both private and public life, whose decisions and actions are devoid of any sense of character or morals; individuals who are only driven by what’s best for them … rather than what’s right … often times at the expense of many …. including our national security.

WHAT I AM … is a realist who understands that the terrorist attack that murdered hundreds of innocent Russian children could have occurred here, in our heartland. That’s why I sincerely believe America needs now, more than ever, a President who sees with a clear and focused vision and who speaks with a voice when heard by both friend and foe alike, is understood, respected and believed.

WHAT I AM … is eternally grateful to Ronald Reagan for having the bravery to speak out against Communism and the courage of his convictions in leading the fight to defeat it; and George W. Bush for the vision, courage, conviction and leadership he has shown in America’s war on terrorism amidst both the constant and vicious, personal and political attacks both he and his family are made to endure.

WHAT I AM … is a human being, full of numerous faults and failures, but a man nonetheless, who, though not always successful, has continually strived to do “what’s right” instead of “what’s easy”. A man who is challenging the religious leaders of all faiths, to not only preach to their congregations the fundamentals of “what’s right” and “what’s wrong”, but to also then hold them accountable for their actions in both the public and private sectors.

WHAT I AM … is disgusted with the Courts who, on one hand, call the murder of a pregnant woman a “double homicide” but then refer to the abortion of her baby as, “pro-choice”.

WHAT I AM … is someone deeply troubled by a political party which embraces a candidate whose primary “leadership” qualities center around his protesting of the Vietnam war and his labeling the honorable men and women who fought in it, (50,000 of whom gave their lives in that action), as rapists, and war criminals. That same political party then stepped forward this year to block the appearance of a true Vietnam war hero, retired Admiral and former United States Senator, Jeremiah Denton, (a man who spent seven years and seven torturous months in a North Vietnam prison), from speaking before an open session of the California legislature as part of that state’s 4th of July celebration. The reason Democrats gave for refusing to allow this American hero to speak before their state legislature was because of the “conservative” nature of his views. As an American, that troubles me deeply ….as well it should you.

WHAT I AM … is a man who feels the need to spend, $104, 655.60,(tax paid) of his own money, to purchase this advertisement, in order to set the story straight. Some may say this money would have been better spent feeding the world’s poor. At the risk of sounding self-serving, as an American and as a Republican, for the last six decades of my life, I have done exactly that… and more. Following the examples of my parents and grand parents, I have used my earnings to feed the poor, shelter the homeless, provide housing for the elderly and medical care for the sick….. and continue to do so… and I’m not alone in that work.

WHAT I AM … is someone who is paying for this announcement, at my sole expense, in hopes of opening the eyes of those led blindly by ill-informed elements of our great nation, who, through either ignorance, or malicious intent, repeatedly attack and belittle those of us who belong to a political party that holds true to the belief, “… the rights of the governed, exceed the power of the government”. For those interested, I am speaking only as a tax-paying individual who is in no way associated with The Republican National Committee, nor with any of its directors, or delegates.

WHAT I AM … is a man who understands, “the American way of life” is a message of self-empowerment for all.

WHAT I AM … is an American who is grateful that our nation gives each of us the opportunity of self-determination and the right to benefit from the fruits of self achievement.

WHAT I AM … is an American who wants to preserve that way of life for all who seek it.

WHAT I AM … is blessed to be an American…. and proud to be Republican.

Yes I can’t stand Kerry

Yes I want Bush to win.. but anyone who thinks Bush was “On the Ball”, did a great job.. is wearing rose colored glasses.

Bush did come off as sincere and caring but seemed defensive and aggravated through the whole debate.

Kerry actually did a decent job from the perspective of appearance however as usual his commentary was full of shit. His mistake was not the way he talked about his vote in the war.. his mistake is his voting record in the war… Maybe kerry thinks we are all so stupid as to fall for his pathetic misdirection as a legitimate answer.

The one good moment..

When Bush pointed out to kerry that the very sanctions he wanted with Iran were in place.. and when kerry tried to attack it as a go-alone strategy.. whoopsie those sanctions were already in place prior to his presidency..

Kerry.. here is a tip.. before you bring up Iran.. research the topic you moron.

Across U.S., Non-Custodial Parents Sue

At least 28 federal class action suits in 28 states have been filed in the last two weeks on behalf of non-custodial parents (NCPs). The defendants are the individual states.

Now this is truly amazing…

According to the suits, state practices appear to be “willful, reckless, and/or negligent fraud, deceit, collusion, and/or abuse of powers” with a “systematic pattern of obstructing, hindering, and/or otherwise thwarting the rightful and lawful conclusion of due process” of non-custodial parents in child custody proceedings.

In particular, fathers protest the widespread practice of almost automatically granting sole custody to mothers in divorce disputes.

I do agree that the practice of automatically granting sole custody is wrong.. however there are many loser fathers and mothers out there who do absolutely shit for their children and it should not be necessary to grant sole custody unless it is proven to be in the child’s best interests.

Here is an amazing little looney idea :

For example, the “prohibition of custodial move-aways of minor children [more than 60 miles] from their original physical residences with natural parents.” Also, the “abolishment of forced/court-ordered child support in most cases.” Support of the child would be borne by each parent during their own parenting time.

Now if you abolish court-ordered child support then I am going to ASSume that they are going to enforce that the child is with each parent for the same amount of time..thereby giving each parent equal cost.

In my relatively new experience of dealing with an absentee father who is a useless waste of oxygen I can guarantee that the child or children will end up becoming a pawn whereby the useless waste of space will refuse to buy their children the things they need in an attempt to force the other parent to do what they should be doing. This would be the same useless pile of genetic droppings that would threaten to fight for joint custody so they didn’t have to spend money on child support

I am sure there are many studies out there that show making a child spend one week with one parent and the next week with the next parent is not particularly good for the child’s mental health.

Being from a “broken home” I can guarantee that shifting from one parent to another on a weekly or bi-weekly basis would have driven me nuts.. The constant packing and unpacking of your crap as your shuttled around… I grew up with friends who’s parents had that relationship and they always seemed far more unsettled that I was. My parents would trade off on weekends without attempting to use me as a pawn. Since I was a teenager many of those decisions about who to have dinner with was my choice. My bedroom was at my moms, the rest of my life was mine to live and spend time with who I wanted.

For those fathers that actually give a shit about their offspring I wish you luck with perhaps changing it so joint custody is a practical thing.. for those who would seek to back this ridiculous class action so that they don’t have to contribute towards their children I can only say one thing.. you are the reason abortion is legal and why we need a cleansing of the global gene pool.
